石川県内灘町に計画された歯科医院である。日本海から吹き抜ける風、曇天の多い北陸の空。この土地柄と歪な三角形の敷地に導かれるように、四つの小さな建築を雁行させた。角度や高さ、屋根勾配をわずかにずらすことで、風をおおらかに受け流し、リズミカルな景色を生み出している。
内部では、受付・待合・診療・スタッフエリアが機能的に分節しつつ、動線は一筆書きのように続く。働く人と訪れる人が交差せず、自然に奥へと導かれる。歩みを進めるごとに景色は少しずつ変化し、天井に連なる構造体の木ルーバーが光を受け止める。その光の重なりが清潔さと温もりを与え、伸びやかな高天井が治療の緊張を和らげる。
「ふなもと歯科医院」は、機能性や効率だけでなく、訪れる人と働く人が安心して過ごせる“空間の心地よさ”を追求した建築である。これからも地域の風景の一部として、人とまちをやさしくつなぐ場所となることを願っている。

　
This project is a dental clinic planned in Uchinada, Ishikawa. The strong winds sweeping in from the Sea of Japan and the overcast Hokuriku sky informed the design. Guided by these local conditions and the irregular triangular site, four modest volumes are arranged in a staggered formation. By subtly shifting their orientation, height, and roof pitch, the architecture gently diffuses the wind and forms a rhythmic presence in the landscape.

Inside, the reception, waiting, treatment, and staff areas are clearly articulated, while the circulation unfolds like a single continuous line. The spatial flow prevents visitors and staff from intersecting, naturally guiding movement toward the back. As one progresses through the building, the scenery changes gradually. Structural wooden louvers along the high ceiling capture and modulate daylight, adding clarity and warmth, while the generous ceiling height eases the tension inherent in clinical settings.

Rather than pursuing functionality and efficiency alone, Funamoto Dental Clinic aims to create a space where both visitors and staff can feel at ease. We hope it will become part of the local landscape, gently connecting people and the town.
